Green Mountain College Men’s and Women’s Basketball
“Hustle and heart set us apart. Winners don’t wait for chances, they take them.”
On January 31, our men’s and women’s basketball teams competed against opponents and came out victorious! Our men's team played Johnson State College at home, and our women's team played John Jay College away in New York City. Our men's team won with a final score of 70-56 and our women's team won 64-48.
On the men's side, after losing three tough games in a row, they managed to get back on track with a conference home game win against Johnson. Both teams are competing for a playoff spot position in the NAC basketball tournament. Sean Leflore led the Eagles with “Sharena Armstrong, Mercedes Rideout and Riley lane all in game mode on 1/28/18 saturday afternoon against The University of Maine Farmington” 18 points, and Matt Hess followed with 13 points. On the women's side, they played in a hostile environment after traveling on the bus for three and a half hours. The lady Eagles played strong with three players scoring in double figures: Sharena Armstrong had 18 points, Riley Lane scored 12 points, and Mercedes Rideout led the way with 21 points. If you want to catch the Eagles in action this weekend, they play our cross-town rivals, Castleton University. The women's game will be at 1:00 pm and the men's game will tip off at 3:00 pm Saturday, February 3.
